FIELD NOTES / WINDOWS ADMINISTRATION
Choose a safe first PowerShell operation
Before submitting a remote command, confirm the selected organization and device, your authorization and the expected privilege context. EclipseRMM’s Windows service runs as LocalSystem, so command review matters.
Ask a narrow question
Use hostname to confirm the computer name. To inspect a known service, Get-Service -Name Spooler is a focused example. Do not paste an unfamiliar script merely because it appears in a troubleshooting guide.
Read output and status together
Check the command’s output, error information and completion status. A queued or timed-out operation should not be treated as successful. Avoid submitting another state-changing operation until you understand the first result.
Keep a record
Use the available audit record alongside your own change process. Administrative permission is a boundary, not a substitute for selecting the right target and reviewing the command.
